I have been so lucky, thanks to the DoLectures. Check it out and prepare to be inspired. Thanks to the Do I met the most inspiring people. Including Maggie Doyne founder of BlinkNow and as a result I was able to join her at her home in Surkhet Nepal and get some beehives humming at her school, Kopila Valley (see the previous post). I was also fortunate enough to speak about raising bees and chickens. Honestly everyone was wildly more talented than I but hey everyone cares about bees and their impact on our environment!
As a result of that talk Miranda West the publisher The Do Book Company asked if I would be interested in writing a little book for them on beekeeping. Needless to say I said yes.
"Our books are written by speakers from the Do Lectures whose ideas have inspired others to go and Do. Our aim is to recreate that same positive change in book form – whether that’s the mastery of a new skill or craft, a simple mindshift, or a shot of inspiration to help you get started.
Each book is fairly short, about 100 pages, because it focuses on the ‘doing’ rather than the background theory. Concise, practical guides that make it easier to Do stuff."
Now I'm no expert but I have been doing it for 5 years now. The hope is that this book will inspire you to get started, have the basics and look at bees as an incredible ally.

And actually you can pre-order the book HERE. It is going to be published in the Spring 2015, in time for prime bee season. The book will also be available at many independent bookstores. I will let you know where, when I know.
